FTL Freight

Full-Truck-Load

Special shipment needs supported

Fixed Cost: The shipper pays a flat rate for the entire truck, regardless of whether the trailer is completely full or not. Cost Efficiency: FTL is the most cost-effective solution when the volume of freight is large enough to fill a trailer. It becomes less economical if the trailer runs mostly empty.

Full Truckload (FTL) Freight FAQ

Dedicated Space and Exclusive Use

The entire truck and trailer space is dedicated exclusively to the single shipper's cargo. Even if the trailer is not completely full, the shipper pays for the use of the whole vehicle, meaning no other freight is loaded onto the trailer

Direct Routing and Speed

FTL shipments travel directly from the pickup origin to the delivery destination without stopping at intermediate terminals or hubs for cross-docking or sorting. This direct route makes FTL the fastest and most predictable road freight option.

Lower Risk of Damage

Since the cargo is loaded only once and unloaded once, and is not transferred between trailers or handled by different terminal teams, the risk of damage, loss, or misdelivery is significantly lower compared to LTL (Less-Than-Truckload).

Ideal for High Volume and High Value

FTL is the most cost-effective solution for large-volume shipments that fill the truck's capacity (typically 24-26 standard pallets or 45,000 lbs). It is also preferred for high-value or sensitive cargo due to the enhanced security of the dedicated seal and reduced handling

Simple, Mileage-Based Pricing

FTL pricing is generally based on a simple, fixed rate per mile for the entire trip, rather than the complex freight class and density formulas used in LTL. The final cost is primarily influenced by the total mileage, fuel surcharges, and current market demand for the specific route lane.
